College Counseling for Latino and Underrepresented Students Report
A comprehensive report was recently conducted by NACAC and Excelencia in Education. The purpose of the report was to get a better understanding of how to improve college access and success for under-represented students. This report focuses on the role of the school counselor in assisting Latino and other underrepresented students through the transition to college. As part of the study they looked at 6 schools with high Latino populations in Los Angeles, Denver and New York. There are some great suggestions in the report on how Counselors can help improve students access and readiness for college.
