TACAC’s 35th Annual Conference

I attended TACAC’s 35th annual conference at the Hyatt Houston last week and heard some really great presentations. The state of College Admissions continues to grow. What I enjoy about these meetings is that High School Counselors and Admissions Counselors from Colleges & Universities get to mingle together and discuss how to best help students. Presentations were given on many different topics including supporting 1st generation College Students, creating partnerships with Vendors that work, what you need to know about the redesigned PSAT/NMSQT, and how it relates to the redesigned SAT, attending college abroad and many other great subjects.

It you are not a member of NACAC you should really check into it. They provide a host of resources to help Counselors keep up with the many changes occurring in the field. Their goal is to help students and meetings like the local TACAC one I attended or the larger national conference held each Fall are used to facilitate ideas.

At TACAC, I met quite a few Counselors that are interested in writing articles for LINK for Counselors and we are looking for more. We want you to share your experiences. If you would like to submit an article to help your peers in the Counseling profession please contact us.
